I first discovered my love for all things two wheeled as a child, my first form of freedom coming on the back of a Huffy single speed bicycle. When I turned 18, I rediscovered that same heady and intoxicating rush of freedom from the seat of a radiant yellow Kawasaki Ninja 250, and currently a resplendent red Ducati 996.
It wasn't until a few years later that I returned to the seat of a bicycle. Both out of community and necessity I chose to cyclo-commute and moto-commute as frequently as possible, my first cycle commute coming on a bike that came free to me, a Centurion Dave Scott Iron Man Edition Expert. My second bike, that I like to ride locally is a fixed gear Fuji Esprit Expert, 48/16 gear ratio, which is very good training, although a little hard on my knees for climbing hills.
My experiences from the seat of my two wheeled transportation have led me to believe that the perspective of a cyclist and motorcyclist are unique among the throngs of people confined to their enclosed transportation. I hope to, in some small way, express this view, or more accurately this philosophy, through photography and blog entries that reflect the uniqueness inherent to a view astride a bike, motorized or otherwise...
